Happy Days (Paramount TV, 1974-1984), Henry Winkler "Fonzie" Signature Leather Jacket. Marlon Brando, James Dean, Elvis, Hell's Angels, the Ramones - the Fonz. In the pantheon of those who gave the leather jacket its unrelenting, prima facie status as the ultimate emblem of cool, Henry Winkler's turn as Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli, better known as Fonzie, stands with the best of them. Initially a secondary character with billing relegated to the end credits, the Fonz quickly became a fan favorite and a breakout of the first season, so much so that the show's creators almost chose to rename the series "Fonzie's Happy Days" when the second season came around. Instead, they kept the show's title and decided instead to give more space to Fonzie's character alongside the other leads, thus cementing his position as one of the most immediately recognizable figures of '70s television. Today, he remains by far the most well-known and memorable character from the series, who wrapped effortless coolness, sex appeal, masculinity, and an unwavering moral compass all into one easy going, loveable character. Presented here is a vintage original brown leather bomber-style jacket, the focal part of the Fonz's iconic costume ensemble, featuring pointed collar, ribbed elastic knit cuffs and hemline, zipper front closure, and interior lined with black patterned satin. Exhibiting minor production wear and age with some rubbing of the leather onto the interior satin lining. This jacket was originally donated by Henry Winkler as part of a charity auction hosted by the Rehabilitation Institute on Long Island, NY, and is accompanied by a typewritten letter from Winkler on his personal letterhead and dated August 20, 1979, stipulating, "It is with great pleasure that I send along this original jacket that I wore during the filming of the 76-77 HAPPY DAYS series. This is the first time that any original Fonzie paraphernalia has left my dressing room". Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. From The Stewart Berkowitz Television Treasures Collection.
