Munster, Go Home! (Universal, 1966), Butch Patrick "Eddie Munster" Costume Ensemble. Vintage original (2) piece signature "Little Lord Fauntleroy-style" Edwardian suit worn by Eddie Munster (Butch Patrick) consisting of (1) collarless purple crushed-velvet suit jacket and (1) pair of matching purple crushed-velvet short suit pants with hook-and-eye closure. Both garments retain Western Costume Co. bias label typed, "Butch Patrick" and "2841-1". Pants also contain an additional Costume Department label, affixed with Western Costume Co. pin, reading "79 - Double Ste 2-Piece".
Munster, Go Home! was a 1966 extension of the original television series, directed by Earl Bellamy and retaining the central cast including Fred Gwynne as Herman Munster, Yvonne De Carlo as Lily Munster, Al Lewis as Grandpa, and of course, Butch Patrick as Eddie Munster. According to Butch Patrick, only two suits were made for the film, the other having been sold by Heritage in 2021 from the collection of noted
Munsters collector, Kevin Burns. Notably, Eddie's suits used for the black-and-white series were brown versus the present purple ensemble used for the color film. Suit exhibits expected production handling and wear including some color loss and pulled threads to the jacket. For display purposes, the costume is accompanied by a white polyblend short-sleeved button-up shirt with Peter Pan collar, a pair of green boy's knee-high socks, a pair of replica black dress shoes, and a black string tie.
