Pink Princess Real Doll Cosmetics Open Case of 12 Display Boxes with 48 Pieces Each (576 Total) (Dunham, 1959). Produced in 1959 by Dunham, the Pink Princess Real Doll Cosmetics line was marketed as child-oriented cosmetic play items, promoted with period language such as "Real Like Mommy's Cosmetics" and "Safe Harmless," and noted at the time of manufacture as using U.S. certified cosmetic colors. This offering comprises an open master case containing 12 retail display boxes, each housing 48 individually carded items, for a total of 576 pieces. The assortment includes six cosmetic types: powder, perfume, lipstick, rouge, perfume stick, and bubble bath. Each display box was designed for counter presentation, with the individual items mounted on small retail cards. The outer case shows significant wear, with heavy scuffing and dents along the edges and heavy scuffing and crushing at the corners. The box surfaces exhibit moderate scuffing, creasing, and staining. The 48-count retail boxes show significant edge wear resulting in some separation and mild crushing. The individual carded cosmetic items exhibit only minor wear. A substantial surviving quantity from a late-1950s children's cosmetic line, this Pink Princess grouping preserves both case and retail display format, documenting mid-century toy cosmetic merchandising at full scale.
