Hubley The Rifleman Flip Special Rifle With Box (Hubley, 1958). This lot features Hubley's The Rifleman Flip Special toy rifle, produced in 1958 and based on the popular television series starring Chuck Connors. Issued during the height of TV Western popularity, the Flip Special was designed with a distinctive lever-action feature and detailed faux-wood and metal construction, making it one of Hubley's more recognizable long-gun releases of the era. The rifle is offered with its original open-face box. Condition reflects a strong example overall, with box wear primarily confined to specific areas. The box retains vibrant color and presents well from the front. A minimal crease is present on the left side panel. A more pronounced crease appears along the top panel above the barrel area, visible on both the exterior and interior of the box. The right side edge shows edge wear, and on the open-facing side, the outer right panel has a few small holes. The bottom side panel displays creasing, and on the interior panel, compression is visible where the rifle's ring has pressed into the cardboard. The back panel remains particularly attractive, retaining strong color and crisp imagery. The rifle itself presents very well. The faux-wood stock and body retain rich color and convincing grain detail. The decorative scrollwork along the handguard shows some white along the lower edge. The metal components appear clean, with no visible rusting or pitting, contributing to the overall strong appearance of the piece. Television tie-in toy rifles from the 1950s remain an important segment of vintage toy collecting, and Hubley's Rifleman Flip Special stands out for its mechanical design and visual appeal. Offered here with its original box and a well-preserved rifle, this example represents a desirable display piece from the golden age of TV Western memorabilia.
