Star Wars ROTJ Turkish Bootleg Emperor's Royal Guard (No Cloak) AFA QY50 ** POP 3, Highest Grade ** (Uzay, 1988). Produced in Turkey under the Uzay brand, these late-1980s bootleg Star Wars figures have become legendary among collectors for their crude sculpting, bold packaging art, and extreme rarity. Among them, the Emperor's Royal Guard stands out-stripped of his iconic cloak and molded in stark plastic, a spartan reinterpretation of one of
Return of the Jedi's most mysterious Imperial enforcers. Uzay figures were distributed only in limited numbers, with fragile cardbacks and poor quality control ensuring few survive today. This example has been graded AFA QY50 VG, with subgrades of C80 B40 F85. The "QY" designation denotes both the yellowed bubble and the Qualified grade (hand-glued blister). Even so, this ranks as the highest-graded example in the population census, one of only 3 known. For Uzay, where even worn examples are prized, this represents top-tier survival. Uzay bootlegs occupy a unique place in Star Wars collecting, celebrated for their oddities and extreme scarcity. The cloakless Royal Guard is a prime example-equal parts bizarre and beautiful in its rarity. For serious collectors, this is a chance to secure one of the most elusive foreign-market figures in the hobby.
