A legendary piece from the golden age of monster model kits, Aurora's Mummy's Chariot is one of the rarest and most bizarre entries in the company's short-lived Monster Hot Rods series. Released in 1964, this offbeat and imaginative kit reimagines the classic Universal-style mummy racing from the tomb in a dragster-style chariot-complete with flaming exhaust, sarcophagus detailing, and a twisted sense of humor that perfectly captured the spirit of the early monster craze. Graded AFA 80 NM, this example is the only one known at this grade and none higher, making it the highest graded population example on record. With its vivid box art, period-correct styling, and crossover appeal to both monster, vintage model collectors, and hot-rod enthusiasts, Mummy's Chariot has become a white whale for hobby historians and Aurora purists alike.
