Renwal Military Train Two Sets in Original Retail Shipper (Renwal, 1950s-60s). Renwal's Military Train line brought postwar fascination with mechanized firepower to the toy aisle, pairing detailed rolling stock with an array of plastic troops and artillery that echoed mid-century military iconography. Produced during the company's peak era, these sets appealed to young tacticians who wanted a fully outfitted battlefield in motion, and today they stand as emblematic examples of Renwal's distinctive blend of imaginative play and surprisingly intricate molded detail. Offered here are two unused sets preserved within the original six-unit retail shipping case, a rarely encountered presentation that underscores both age and authenticity. The two boxed train sets show mild wear along the edges with scuffing and small dents, and the corners display mild scuffing and crushing. Surface wear is moderate, including scuffing, creasing, and veining typical of long-stored paperboard. Both sets remain unused, with most components still attached to their insert trays; several original rubber bands have hardened and broken over time, leaving some pieces loose within the box. One set is missing the base for its artillery gun. All factory windows are absent, having lifted or torn free at some point in the past. The original retail shipping case presents mild edge wear with scuffing and dents, while the corners show heavy scuffing and crushing consistent with decades of storage. The box faces exhibit heavy wear with scuffing, creasing, veining, writing, and noticeable yellowing. This is a scarce surviving example of Renwal's mid-century war-themed toy output-an excellent opportunity for collectors who appreciate the intersection of historical craft, childhood imagination, and early American model-making.
