G.I. Joe Adventure Team Life-Like Talking Black Commander (Hasbro, 1975). This original 1975
G.I. Joe Adventure Team Life-Like Talking Black Commander remains sealed in its factory-issued open window box-a highly sought-after and historically significant piece from Hasbro's vintage 12-inch G.I. Joe line. As one of the earliest mass-market Black action figures in American toy history, this release marked an important milestone in the brand's evolution toward broader representation during the mid-1970s. The figure is still sealed on its card and housed in the original open-front packaging. The box has heavily worn edges and scuffed corners, some of which have small tears. The surface exhibits heavy creasing, especially around the corners, along with a tear on the right side of the display window, and sun-faded box art. Inside, the figure's arms and head have detached, a common condition issue with vintage G.I. Joes due to aging internal elastic. Despite the packaging wear and detached limbs, the figure remains factory sealed, making this an important and rare survivor from the Adventure Team line. For collectors focused on early representation in toys, historically significant G.I. Joe releases, or sealed vintage packaging, this Talking Black Commander offers significant cultural value in a seldom-seen format.
