Star Trek: The Motion Picture (Paramount, 1979), Original "Spock Alarm Clock" Merchandise Concept Artwork. Original concept artwork for a proposed Star Trek-inspired alarm clock accomplished with multi-colored felt-tip and ink on artist's leaf. The futuristic design features a figural depiction of Spock (Leonard Nimoy) perched next to a digital clock with standard alarm and radio functions. A depiction of the USS Enterprise and a label reading "STAR TREK" complete the control panel area. Stat notations to the leaf provide instructions for production including, "EMBOSED PAPER LABEL" and "MR. SPOCK IS ROTARY MOULDED SOFT FIGURE" with accompanying arrows. Retains original maker's stamps reading, "ORIGINAL ARTWORK / PROPERTY OF BRADLEY TIME DIVISION / ELGIN NATIONAL INDUSTRIES, INC." and "RECEIVED / BRADLEY TIME DIVISION / JUN 11, 1979". Bradley Time Division was a division of watchmaker Elgin that manufactured clock-related toys based on film and television properties. Measures 17" x 14" and exhibits signs of handling and wear including corner chips, foxing, edgewear, and an approx. 8.5" x 5" triangular cutout to lower righthand portion of the sheet not affecting illustrated area.
