BG-203 Jethro Tull, MC5 1969 Fillmore West Concert Poster Graded 9.6. First-and-only-printing San Francisco concert poster for Jethro Tull, the MC5 and Sanpaku playing at the Fillmore West on Thursday through Sunday nights, November 20-23, 1969. Designed by Randy Tuten and known as BG-203 in the Bill Graham numbered series, this poster was graded a glorious 9.6 Near Mint Plus by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company).

Any Jethro Tull poster from the 60's is a cause for celebration because the FM underground-radio darlings were releasing classic albums at a steady clip, each one charting higher than the previous one, often changing one band member every time, with leader Ian Anderson always staying the constant. At this point Tull had released only This Was and Stand Up, the latter with incredible three-dimensional album artwork. For his poster, Tuten chose to use an antique photograph of a nude woman with an old-school bicycle.

Measures 14" x 21 1/8". From the David Swartz Concert Poster Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.
