Fright Night (Columbia, 1985), Poster Concept Art. Original poster concept art accomplished with pastel, colored pencil, and paste-up elements on 25" x 38" black illustration paper for the cult classic supernatural horror film Fright Night. The concept for this artwork shows the frightened faces of Charley Brewster (William Ragsdale), Amy Peterson (Amanda Bearse), and Ed Thomspon (Stephen Geoffreys) inside the clawed hand of vampire Jerry Danridge (Chris Sarandon). This simple, white-on-black concept design was constructed using multiple layers of black illustration paper with cut-outs and paste-ups to create the central shapes and finished with colored pencil and pastel highlights. Illustration paper is mounted with black tape to a 30" x 40" artist's board retaining original maker's tape handwritten, "FRIGHT NIGHT". Exhibits signs of wear and age, including toning, smudges and scuffs to the illustration paper, an area of crinkling next to the illustration, and corner bumps and foxing to the board.
