Once Upon a Time in the West (Paramount, 1968), Henry Fonda "Frank" Flat Brim Hat. Vintage original black wool felt cowboy hat with wide flat brim, telescope crown, and black grosgrain hat band. The interior of the hat features 2-white "W.C.C." Western Costume Company stamps and a "U47" stamp. Also features a faded, handwritten "H. Fonda" bias label. Henry Fonda's performance as Frank in Once Upon a Time in the West is significant because it upended his long-established screen persona. For decades, Fonda had been Hollywood's quintessential "good man" - embodying integrity, decency, and moral authority in films like The Grapes of Wrath and 12 Angry Men. Sergio Leone deliberately cast him against type, presenting Fonda as a ruthless, cold-blooded villain who murders a child in his very first scene. Exhibits production wear and age.
