Orson Welles Signed The Magic World of Orson Welles Hardcover by James Naremore (Oxford University Press, 1978). Original hardcover copy of The Magic World of Orson Welles by James Naremore, signed by the director on the title half-page in black-felt tip reading, "For Merv, With all warmest good wishes / From the Spaceship Rosebud / Orson" and an illustration of the iconic sled on the center of page. This book was inscribed to Merv Bloch while he was collaborating with Welles during a live presentation of the trailer narration for Star Trek: The Motion Picture (Paramount, 1979), for which Bloch directed and Welles voiced the narration. According to Bloch, Welles said the Naremore book, "The Magic World Of Orson Welles", was his favorite of all the books about his films. An original invitation from this trailer narration event on 5" x 7" photocard accompanies the signed book, which would explain mention of "Spaceship Rosebud". Hardcover exhibits some signs of wear including rubbing to the spine and some adhesive residue to interior front pages not affecting inscription.
