Charlie Chaplin Signed Letter to Fan (1918). Vintage original 1-page typewritten letter on 8.5" x 11" "Charlie Chaplin Music Publishing Co." letterhead with printed illustration of company building on left, printed photograph of Chaplin on right, and three-leafed clover logo stamped in green ink at center. Dated 18th March, 1918, this letter was written during the rise of Chaplin's film career as the universally familiar "Tramp" character and just before the launch of his joint venture United Artists, which remains a major production and distribution company. Addressed to an English fan, the letter reads, in part: "It makes me feel very happy to know that I have attained my ambition in some small degree of making the world a little happier," typed in blue ink, and signed "Charles Chaplin" in black ink. A rare piece from one of the most important figures in motion picture history. Retains original fold lines and exhibits signs of age and handling, staining, toning, and slight paper loss on verso. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
