The Doors 1968 Phoenix, AZ Memorial Coliseum Concert Poster. An original silk-screened concert poster for The Doors performing at the Arizona Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix on Saturday night, February 17, 1968. Scenic Sounds presented the event, and the opening acts were the Sunshine Company and Hamilton Streetcar.

The poster uses yellow, pink and orange inks effectively, with the central image being a face of unknown origin on a flower-like figure. And it's always nice when a Doors concert poster uses the group's distinct logo-lettering for their name, like this one does.

Chaos often followed the Doors around and this date was no exception. First there was a bomb scare during soundcheck, and the Coliseum had to be emptied. Then over 100 teenagers tried to crash the show without tickets and were ejected by police. Then during "Light My Fire," some lit sparklers were thrown on stage, and there are pictures of Jim Morrison holding one.

This first-ever Heritage offering, of which only a couple have ever come up for public sale, measures 16" x 20 5/8" and grades to restored Near Mint Minus condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.
