BG-197 Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane 1969 Winterland Concert Poster Graded 10 Gem Mint. First-printing San Francisco concert poster for the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane and the Sons of Champlin playing at Winterland on Friday and Saturday nights, October 24 & 25, 1969. Designed by Bonnie MacLean and known as BG-197 in the Bill Graham numbered series, this poster was graded a mind-blowing 10 Gem Mint by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company).

The Dead were playing with three albums under their belt, including their latest Aoxomoxoa, while the Airplane were one week away from releasing their Volunteers long-player. Eight (or is it seven?) musicians' faces are seen, including Jerry Garcia on guitar down in the lower left. The moon, an airplane, a butterfly and a haunted tree add to the effect. Measures 14" x 21". From the David Swartz Concert Poster Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.
