King of Jazz (Universal, 1930, partially lost) Paul Whiteman, John Boles, Laura LaPlante, Jeanette Loff, and Glenn Tryon 8" x 10" Key Set Photographs (50+). Vintage gelatin silver semi-gloss (seventeen double-weight) 8" x 10" (50+) key set photographs of Paul Whiteman, John Boles, Laura LaPlante, Jeanette Loff, and Glenn Tryon, with the Sisters G - Eleanor and Karla Gutöhrlein - and Marion Stadler and Don Rose in King of Jazz by Jack Freulich and Ray Jones, with credit and caption stamp, and paper caption on the verso. Fine/Very Fine, with edge wear, edge tear (1), missing corner tip (1), and corner creases. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.

One of the earliest all-Technicolor features, King of Jazz was Universal's lavish revue showcasing Whiteman and his orchestra, with specialty numbers ranging from comedy sketches to pioneering animation by Walter Lantz. Though not a financial success at the time, the film is now regarded as a landmark in early sound musicals for its extraordinary scale, stylized sets, and bold use of color, and for preserving performances by Whiteman and members of his band (including a young Bing Crosby, in one of his first screen appearances).
