Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Hero Red Handled Machete from The Walking Dead (AMC 2010-2022, Seasons 4-5). Original Hero red handled machete featuring a metal blade with serrated spine, studio altered with the edges and serrations dulled for safety, and a plastic handle wrapped in a red athletic-type tape, expertly studio distressed with faux blood, dirt, and grime, measuring 24" x 3.5". Carried throughout Seasons 4 and 5 by an increasingly weary Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) who first obtains it in Season 4, Episode 16, "A," after brutally killing its former owner and Claimers' leader, Joe (Jeff Kober), in a desperate rescue of his son Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs). Rick carries the signature machete by his side throughout Season 5, including Episode 3, "Four Walls and a Roof," when he executes the cannibalistic Terminus leader, Gareth (Andrew J. West) as his band of survivors looks on in horror. Rick later ditches the machete in favor of a hatchet once he arrives in Alexandria. This iconic weapon has since garnered its own mystique in The Walking Dead Universe, even becoming the subject of its own six-part webisode series dubbed The Red Machete. Exhibits production age and wear, including oxidation along the metal blade. Comes with a COA from AMC and Heritage Auctions.
