Description:

Ernie Kovacs' "Nairobi Trio" Ape Masks. One of Kovacs' best-known comedy bits is the "Nairobi Trio" series of sketches. Each involved three gorillas (played by Kovacs, his wife Edie, and assorted guests such as Jack Lemmon and Frank Sinatra) wearing derby hats and overcoats, mechanically miming to the tune "Solfeggio" like wind-up toys, their antics soon devolving into physical assault. These are three of the ape masks worn by Kovacs and his cohorts in the sketches. In Fair condition with some wear from age; the latex material has deteriorated over the decades and is quite brittle. Prize relics of classic TV comedy. From the Ernie Kovacs/Edie Adams Estate Archive.
