Description:

Jimi Hendrix Stage-Worn Boots. Among the most important Hendrix artifacts ever to surface, these brown suede fringed boots were owned and stage-worn by Jimi Hendrix. Accompanying the lot are two large-format photographs of Hendrix wearing the boots onstage at Golden Gate Park on June 27, 1967, mere days after his triumphant performance at the Monterey Pop Festival. The shots were taken by famed Rock and Roll photographer James Marshall, who signed and dated the photographs' mat boards. The b&w 12" x 17" images provide two distinct views of Jimi wearing the boots: a side view shows the boots in their entirety and a shot from behind renders an excellent look at the leather soles. Distinct wear along the arch area of each sole is consistent with Jimi's unmistakable stance while performing, as is the 4" tear to the inner heel area of the right boot. The boots were obtained from Robert Terry, a Jimi Hendrix collector, photographer, and good friend of Jimi's father Al Hendrix. Rarely has a Hendrix-owned treasure been offered with such outstanding provenance and photographic documentation. In overall Very Good condition. Accompanied by COA and LOAs confirming provenance. Estimate: $20,000 - up.
