Description

Jack Ruby Skull X-Ray. An x-ray of the right side of Jack Ruby's skull, dated January 28, 1964. The x-ray was taken by technologist Shirley Davis under the supervision of Baylor Medical Center of Dallas' chief radiologist, Dr. Alvin Doyle Sears, early that morning amid much secrecy. Ruby had been taken into police custody after shooting Lee Harvey Oswald two months prior, and security around him was tight. (Parkland Hospital had declined performing the procedure due to security concerns.) The x-ray was possibly one of the ones ordered by Ruby's attorneys as they considered the possibility of a defense based on psychomotor epilepsy. (The disorder was ultimately never diagnosed in Ruby.) In Excellent condition, accompanied by a notarized letter of provenance.
