Description

Hugh Hefner Signed Custom Playboy 40th Anniversary Guitar, Featuring Marilyn Monroe Nude Portrait. Founded by Hugh Hefner in 1953, Playboy quickly became known for its photos of beautiful women. Sales skyrocketed, Playboy Enterprises took off, and a slew of imitators followed. The company has since developed into a highly influential multi-media and a multi-million dollar philanthropic foundation; and it remains the leading men's magazine today. This custom built black Fender Stratocaster features a voluptuously nude Marilyn Monroe, front and center, airbrushed onto the body -- a perfectly fitting image, as she was the first Playboy centerfold. The Strat was released in 1974, is signed by Hefner in gold felt tip, and features ebony Playboy logo inlays on the neck. The guitar is #171 in a limited edition of 175, is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Fender, a red leather guitar case, matching Playboy guitar strap, and a hardshell case to contain it all. All items are in Excellent condition. From the Archives of Playboy Entertainment. Accompanied by James Spence Authentication auction LOA.
