Playboy Color Centerfold Proofs - Signed by Hugh Hefner (Playboy, 2000-01). Offered here are two delicious color proofs of Playboy centerfolds. Not just any old photo -- these giant, untouched photos were proofs for Hugh Hefner and his staff to approve before becoming centerfolds in the magazine long ago dubbed Entertainment for Men. As part of the proofing, Hef and his staff would write critical remarks and directions for corrections and enhancements to be made to the photo before it was deemed worthy of inclusion in the magazine that made the term centerfold famous. Hef's initials are at the top of the approval list that would ultimately be initialed by six or seven other photo editors. The photos are a bit larger (11" x 23") than the resulting centerfold, with some trimming to be done around the edges before making their way into the magazine. They're mounted on illustration board and have an acetate sheet attached upon which the proofers wrote their remarks. The Playmates represented here are Nefeteri Shepherd (July, 2000) and Jennifer Walcott (August, 2001), who became one of the most popular models on the magazine's online website, Playboy Cyber Club.
