Laurel and Hardy Signed Documents. Historic documents tracing the early years of Stan Laurel at Hal Roach Studios include one-page agreement dated January 26, 1923, signed in fountain ink by Stan Laurel and Roach vice-president Warren Doane; a seven-page contract, dated March 2, 1923, signed in fountain ink by Laurel, as well as by Hal Roach and secretary/treasurer C.H. Roach, as well as a cover letter signed by Warren Doane in pencil; a two-page agreement, dated December 12, 1923, regarding percentages of total net profits due Laurel, signed in fountain in by Laurel, Hal Roach, and C.H. Roach; a typed document dated February 8, 1924, canceling the March 2, 1923 contract, signed by Laurel, Hal Roach, and C.H. Roach, as well as a list of the films covered in the profit participation clause, signed twice by Laurel and Warren Doane; plus letter on Hal Roach Studios Inc. letterhead, dated December 12, 1932, regarding contract matters and signed by Laurel, C.H. Roach, and Roach Studios vice-president Henry Ginsberg; and typed letter on Hal Roach Studios Inc. letterhead, dated October 11, 1927, regarding "higher compensation" for Laurel, signed by Laurel and Roach asst. secretary Matt D. O'Brien. All documents and signatures in Excellent condition.
