Beatles Related - Paul McCartney Signed Hofner Bass Guitar. This right-handed Icon-B version of Walter Hofner's legendary semi-acoustic bass is signed across the pearloid pickguard by McCartney in blue felt tip. The design was released in 1956; it became popular after McCartney bought his first Hofner bass in Hamburg in 1961 and used it on many of the Beatles' most famous songs. The design quickly became known as the "Beatle bass", and McCartney continues to use one to this day. The Icon Series has a design approximating Hofner's original, having been made in China with slightly different materials and lacking the "zero" fret. The bass in Excellent condition, and comes with a hardshell carrying case. Accompanied by COAs from Frank Caiazzo and Perry Cox, and by a James Spence Authentication auction LOA.
