The Beatles - Paul McCartney Signed Yesterday and Today Third State Mono Butcher Cover (Capitol 2553, 1966). That it's the rare "Butcher Cover" is cool enough, but this one's been signed by Sir Paul on the front -- "Cheers!" indeed! This is a third state copy, meaning the "Butcher Cover" had been pasted over by the "trunk" cover for re-distribution, then carefully peeled later to reveal the infamous pose that is still so sought-after decades later. Peeling the cover is a tricky matter, and this one was smartly done. The image area is mostly unaffected, with just some minor peel tears along the left lower border. There is wear along all the edges, with the spine taped top to bottom and a 5" seam split at bottom right. Don't worry -- frame it and display not only the iconic image, but also the autograph of one of Rock's greatest icons as well! Also enclosed is the peeled "trunk" cover, intact but heavily wrinkled from the peeling process. Record is not included. Condition: GD-VG 4. Accompanied by James Spence Authentication auction LOA.
