Description
Star Trek Original Series Set of 609 35mm Film Frames. Includes 609 frames from the actual 35mm film shot for the original Star Trek television series. These are first-print originals from the very film that ran through the camera as various episodes were being filmed. These original film frames were later marketed by Gene Roddenberry and Majel Barret through a mail order company called Star Trek Enterprises. (References to the company and this venture are noted in The Star Trek Compendium, on page 139.) Each is in 35mm film, but mounted in a half-holder because it had to be in 16mm format for broadcasting purposes. All are from footage shot before June 1969. Images are categorized by exterior and interior shots of the Enterprise, shots of various actors, alien species, and scenes from specific episodes, including "Arena", "The City on the Edge of Forever", "Amok Time", "The Trouble with Tribbles", and "Let This Be Your Last Battlefield". Included with this set is an original Catalog #2 from Star Trek Enterprises that lists all the items being offered at that time. The frames we're offering in this lot were ordered from Catalog #1, which featured the first frames offered in the promotion from Star Trek Enterprises. All items in overall Very Fine condition.Heritage Auctions provides detailed information when available but strongly encourages in-person inspection. Condition statements and photographs are offered as general guidance only, not as complete representations of facts, and do not constitute a warranty or assumption of liability by Heritage. Framed artworks are not examined outside their frames, and additional details from Heritage may be unavailable; therefore, the condition of unexamined works is not guaranteed. Heritage is not responsible for damage to frames, glazing, original boxes, display materials, or for works that have shifted within the frame. All lots are sold "AS IS" in accordance with our Terms & Conditions of Auction.
