Billie Holiday Signed Copy of Lady Sings the Blues. Co-written with William Dufty in 1956 and later adapted for the screen in 1972, Billie Holiday's autobiography detailed her tumultuous life, one marred by a series of abusive relationships, drug addictions, and periods of depression, all of which eventually affected both her voice and her health, leading to her untimely death in July 1959, at age 44. This first edition presentation copy of the book is inscribed "To Joe, Sincerely" and signed by Holiday in blue ballpoint on the title page. There are some signs of spine separation between this page and the first free page; otherwise, the is in Very Fine to Excellent condition with a Fine dustjacket and clamshell case in Excellent condition. Accompanied by James Spence Authentication auction LOA.
