Description

Ginger Rogers Signed Photo. A rare b&w 11" x 14" photo of Ginger Roger from her early vaudeville days, inscribed "To Ruthie -- my dearest friend and the sweetest teacher I've ever had, my goodest love always" and signed by Rogers in green ink. Ruthie was Ruth Browning, Rogers' 8th grade teacher and an important influence in her life. The photo is in Very Good condition with pieces missing from the corners, a large piece missing from the left edge that slightly affects part of the inscription, a large tear near the right edge, and a flap tear to the left edge that runs through the inscription and signature. It is accompanied by a copy of Rogers' autobiography, which mentions Browning on pages 393-395, and a b&w 8" x 10" photo of Browning. Accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA.
