Description

Stanley Kramer's NAACP Vanguard Award. Created in 1998 for the 29th Annual NAACP Image Awards, the Vanguard is presented to a person whose groundbreaking work increases understanding and awareness of racial and social issues. Stanley Kramer was the first recipient of the honor, in recognition of the strong social themes that ran through his body of work. (It has been presented just twice more to date, to Steven Spielberg in 2000 and Prince in 2005). This is the statuette presented to Kramer, a stirring representation of a man bearing the weight of the world. It measures 14" in height, with a circumference of 8" at the base, and is in Excellent condition. From the Stanley Kramer Estate.
