A Brad Pitt Leather Coat from "Legends of the Fall." TriStar, 1994. Tan leather, rounded lapels, double-breasted, two frontal welt pockets, two frontal flap pockets, matching self-belt, label reads "Palace Costume Co. / MLJ 102," with further PCC barcode; worn by the actor as he portrayed the blazingly beautiful "Tristan Ludlow," most notably in the gripping final clash with the O'Banion brothers when dad [Anthony Hopkins as "Colonel William Ludlow"] takes them down with his shotgun; interestingly, Pitt was nominated for a 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama' Golden Globe for his work but unbelievably he lost out to Tom Hanks for "Forrest Gump!"

This 1970s-vintage coat was further aged and distressed specifically for Pitt's use in the the film and once production wrapped, the costumers had it cleaned professionally. Years later, another costume house obtained it and hired Western costumer, Richard La Motte, to restore it, making it look how it did when Pitt last wore it onscreen as the film had become a modern-day 'classic.' Its current self-belt is vintage to the coat, though a different one was used onscreen which was sewn onto the garment (stitch marks are still visible where it was attached) so it wouldn't fall off during action scenes.
