Description
1941 Martin D-45 Natural Acoustic Guitar, Serial # 78882. The Martin D-45 has always been the guitar to have for players and collectors. Very few ever show up for sale. This is a very good sounding and playing example that has had significant high quality restoration. The top was removed to repair bracing and bridge plate issues, the current new bridge plate is of correct size. All interior patches and repair are neat and clean. It appears that great care was taken to reverse earlier repairs of lesser quality. The reinstallation of the top is very professionally done. The bridge is a correct size replacement . There is a finish shadow around the bridge from a previous oversized bridge. The body finish appears to be a nicely blended combination of original and touch up. The neck set is correct and the guitar plays great with a proper saddle height. The pickguard is replaced with what appears to be a period correct size and shape. There is a 6 inch nicely fit splint in the top and a few well repaired cracks in the Brazilian back and sides. The tuners are newer open gear Grovers. To see all that this guitar has to offer an in hand inspection of this guitar is recommended. Original hard case included.
