Beatles 1st State Butcher Cover Yesterday and Today Mono LP (Capitol 2553, 1966). The original cover for the Beatles' US release Yesterday and Today was a conceptual art piece entitled "Somnambulant Adventure" - okaaay... so why the bloody visage and incongruous laughing? EMI, parent company of Capitol Records, wondered the same thing, ordering all copies of the cover to be destroyed and replaced with the more acceptable "Trunk Cover" that millions of us in the US ultimately purchased. But not all the original, offensive covers were destroyed, and here's an outstanding example, with a story so good we had our consignor relate it for your consumption! See it close up at HA.com. Our offering, in the original procurer's hands all these years shows some minor wear on the front, with some stains on the back cover. Condition: EX 7/ VG-EX 6.
