Description

Ernie Kovacs' Television Academy Hall of Fame Award. This striking steel sculpture/trophy was awarded to Kovacs posthumously in 1987 in recognition of his career and contributions to television comedy during the early days of the medium, and his comedic style has influenced generations of comedians and performers to the present day. The sculpture measures 8" x 34" x 8" and bears an engraved plaque that reads: "God gives and takes away. Ernie's genius left an indelible mark on the evolution of television comedy. Presented on the occasion of his induction into the Television Academy Hall of fame 1987". In Excellent condition. From the Ernie Kovacs/Edie Adams Estate Archive.
