An accomplished saxophone player, Doug graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bowling Green University in Ohio with a Bachelor of Music degree, and was honored with membership in Phi Eta Sigma Honors Fraternity. He also received a Masters Equivalent in Performance from Berklee College of Music in Boston. Doug has received 12 Gold and Platinum records from the RIAA for his work as a musician.
Doug's musical credits are numerous, and will certainly be familiar to anyone tuned into the American popular culture landscape. Perhaps his most popular credit is that of the baritone sax behind Lisa Simpson and her mentor, "Bleeding Gums" Murphy on the FOX hit series, The Simpsons (The Simpson's Sing The Blues and The Simpson's Yellow Album feature Doug's music). A busy studio musician in Los Angeles for the past twenty-two years, Norwine has been featured on such television shows as Roseanne, Full House, Seinfeld, The Tonight Show and too many others to list.
As a ten-year-old boy, Doug became fascinated with collecting a wide range of autographs and memorabilia. His collection now contains over fifty thousand different autographs and a vast amount of important pieces of music, film, movie, and historical memorabilia. Over the years, Doug has been asked to help authenticate autographs and memorabilia, and he has written articles for magazines including The Autograph Collector and Fangoria. Doug has also been sought after to contribute research materials, information, and personal knowledge by the authors of many film books published by McFarland Press.
In his spare time, Doug enjoys baseball, softball, bass fishing, autograph collecting, and making Tesla Coils and other high voltage creations!

By the time Jim was nine years old, he already had growing collections of comic books, records (you know, that precursor of the music CD), sports cards, stamps, and coins. By age 16 he was a radio DJ. Later, his years at San Bernardino Valley College studying Pre-Med, English, and Music included stints in three rock bands.
Even after Jim settled into the 'real' world of life and health insurance claims, he found time to attend collectibles shows as a dealer, set up at local flea markets, and own his own bookstore. When the fledgling Heritage Comic Auctions presented the opportunity to work full-time in an environment that allowed his indulging his lifelong collectible interests with his practical experience in writing and marketing, Jim jumped at the chance. His primary responsibilities are in the production of catalogs for the Comics and Entertainment Memorabilia auctions, but he also assists in the marketing of and in bringing in consignments for both venues.
