Description:
A List of Favorite Actors and Films, 1977. A letter sent to Wayne on "July 8, 1977" by 'The People's Almanac' asking him to participate in a poll of all living Academy Award winning actors "on their opinion of who were and are the 5 best motion picture actors of all time...(and)...the 5 ...best motion pictures of all time;" Wayne's two photocopied responses are included (the originals obviously sent back to 'The People's Almanac') where he notes for actors: "1) Spencer Tracy 2) Elizabeth Taylor 3) Kathrine [sic] Hepburn 4) Laurence Olivier 5) Lionel Barrymore" and for films "1) A Man for All Seasons 2) Gone with the Wind 3) The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse 4) The Searchers 5) The Quiet Man;" (the last two probably more of an homage to John Ford than to himself); interesting to know what Wayne liked just as a regular movie fan.
