Description

Game of Thrones Jon Snow Awakens Storyboards by William Simpson Group of 2 (HBO, 2011). In season 6 of the epic HBO series Game of Thrones, newly elected Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, Jon Snow is murdered by mutineers, but brought back to life by the Priestess Melisandre using the power of R'hllor. It's a surprising scene that every fan remembers and offered here is the original storyboard art illustrating that very moment when Jon is reanimated. It was drawn by storyboard and concept artist William Simpson whose work was integral in the development of the televised adaptation of George R. R. Martin's fantasy book series A Song of Ice and Fire. Offered in this lot is the two-page storyboard for season 6, episode 602, scene 2.29. It's comprised of 8 hand-drawn panels measuring approximately 5.25" x 3" across two 11.75" x 16.5" pages. Each panel is rendered in graphite along the left side of the page with dialogue and direction to the right. Both pages are signed and initialed by the artist in the lower right corner. The full scene depicts Jon lying in state after the priestess has worked her magic. His dire wolf, Ghost lays by his body and is the first to sense something is about to happen. This is crucial turning-point for both this key character and the direction of the story. The art shows handling and edge wear. Condition is Very Good. COA from Heritage Auctions.
