Description
An Orson Welles Group of Working Script Pages from "Citizen Kane." RKO Radio Pictures, 1941. Twenty-four pages total appearing to be from a 'Cutting Continuity' script, including pages 1-14 and pages 46-55, a date of "5-17-40" is noted on page 46, a date of "6-1-40" is noted on page 55, all have three-hole punch marks on the left margin, many have paperclip rust marks in upper left corners, pages 46-52 have fingerprints on the middle right margin -- possibly Welles' own; included with a letter from Beatrice Welles indicating she consigned this lot directly to Heritage Auctions. (Please note all pages are yellowed, creased, and somewhat tattered due to age.)11" x 8 1/2"
Though this isn't the complete script or Welles' annotated working copy, these pages nonetheless were still in the hands of the great filmmaker as he created what is arguably the best American film ever made. The frisson that comes from just these few pieces of paper is palpable!
